Notch’s Hellcrest VIII — Shadow Work

Every desire you denied will claim you in the end.
Dear human, death is only the beginning

This is not an event, my fellow friend.
It’s a confrontation with everything you chose to ignore.
Welcome tothe Afterlife
The Desert Styx is the pit-stop between here and over there where the dang nabbed cycle of reincarnation begins. This is the place where all the repressed aspects of your psyche are released and given form, transforming you into your true self.

Is that good, is it bad? Who knows but for your average repressed individual, it is NOT enjoyable. The sexually repressed become lizard-brained purveyors of taint, people pleasers’ resentments come sticking through their skin turning them into gangs of roaming cacti-people and old gods travel the lands never ever learning my mythological lessons. Welcome to your afterlife, you will face yourself.

Now LeavingPositropolis
On your way from Positropolis to Masculand, your bus driver Charon lost the battle of control to some very potent liquor and crashed the bus into a wall, bringing everyone with him to the Styx.
Production Club split a real 50 foot long bus into 3 pieces and created a portal to the underworld complete with dying bus passengers recounting all their life’s regrets.

Now Leaving Positropolis

Desert Styx
A spiritual exploration of repressed desires, self-expression, and hedonism. Desert Styx asks you to accept your deepest shadow. Anything goes here because you will have to accept everything about yourself to become whole.

All Souls Wasted in Fear
The connecting spine of the party was a 60 foot long neon that served as a warning to those resisting the process of transformation.

Darker Acts of Love
Pleasurecoffin, fitn3sss and alex/esk played through the night for those with a more discerning palette of desire, housed in the darkest hole we could.

Life Is Short, Death Is Forever!
Karaoke as catharsis for the afterlife. Sing for the odds, sing for the underworld, sing for the living and the dead.
Expression replaces repression.
The myth of Persephone tells how Hades kidnapped Persephone, daughter of Demeter and Zeus, and took her to the Underworld to become his queen.
Laura “Panda” Lee played our roadhouse Persephone, singing songs and waxing sentimental while entertaining our newly lost souls.
Elysian Fields, or the False Paradise
A point of transcendence into joy or a trap of hedonistic pursuits?

Acheron, or the Desert of Woe
Where guests lament their past decisions and mud wrestle with their shadow.

Lizard Lair, or the Instinct Zone
A raw, degraded basement where identity collapses and your instincts flourish. Home of lot lizards.
