Experience Roblox in real life
A few of the biggest developers on Roblox hit us up to throw a party after RDC25 in San Jose. These guys have been around since day one, and have made some of the largest and most impactful games in the Roblox ecosystem but instead of calling attention to themselves, they wanted to shine a light on some the earliest Roblox experiences that the community rallied around. So we did just that, bringing Happy Home, Sword Fight on the Heights and the Iron Cafe to life.

The Roblox Designers Conference after-party
Guests who had only ever experienced Roblox as a digital experience had their minds blown as they got to enter Roblox worlds IRL.

The After Party for Developers
Hidden alongside the homages to early Roblox experiences were Easter Eggs for each of the participating developers properties. We created large scale bees from Bee Swarm Simulator, a campfire from 99 Nights, giant blox fruit and vegetables from grow a garden. These are some of the biggest games on the platform.

The Iron Cafe
The Iron Cafe was Roblox’s first true hangout spot. Players could hang out, drink coffee, perform on the famous stage with their friends and dance the night away there. This type of experience served as a foundational blueprint for Roblox social hangouts and other role-play games. We recreated it faithfully, from the flat curtains and stretched brick texture walls, to the giant books and benches from the world. For us, this served as the center of the party.

Roblox Happy Home
The “Happy Home in Robloxia” is historically important as one of the very first default places every new player encountered, serving as a blank canvas that sparked early user creativity, socialization, and the broader sandbox culture of the platform. Every developer has this affectionately burned into their brains and it was important that we paid it respect for the party.

Sword Fight Arena
The pioneer of the platform's melee combat genre, Sword Fight on the Heights established a massive competitive community, and introduced foundational mechanics—like in-game music and distinct special weapons—that shaped early game design on Roblox. Every single person who played this wished they could do it in real life. We made that dream a reality with real(foam) swords and jousting sticks.
